The Commission on the Filipino Language aims to formulate plans and policies to ensure the enrichment and promotion of Filipino and other Philippine languages; propose guidelines and linguistic standards to be adopted for the education system as well as for the integration in the policies and in the operations of other government agencies; promote translation as a significant tool for the intellectualization of the Filipino language; and produce a significant amount of materials/books related to language research, translation, and materials in various disciplines written in Filipino.
The Commission on the Filipino language is the sole language agency of the government mandated to ensure and promote the evolution, development, and further enrichment of Filipino as the national language of the Philippines, on the basis of existing Philippine and other languages.
