More than fifty applicants registered in each period. The Rumah Angklung community is the basis for the preservation and development of Angklung for young generations. Angklung Donation is a Rumah Angklung Indonesia Foundation program that aims to raise pride in the art of Indonesian culture, especially Angklung, among the people of Indonesia. Fostering a sense of cultural pride should be initiated as early as possible for a stronger sense of pride in culture. Having a sense of pride in the art culture of Indonesia is considered very important at this time. As the culture of Indonesia is waning among the people, the lack of knowledge of Indonesian students about Indonesian culture is evidence that the identity of the Indonesian nation is fading. This type of problem requires the participation of all parties. The government’s ability to make the people of Indonesia care about preservation and development of culture is limited. Active participation is needed for the effort to realize the dream of raising pride in art and culture. Through Donation Space program, Indonesian Angklung House Foundation invites the public and the stakeholders to use Angklung in education by providing Angklung musical instruments.
This Rumah Angklung program provides information and spreads a sense of pride in playing Angklung among students and stakeholders of education. Through this program, Rumah Angklung directly goes to schools and universities and hosts a number of activities. One of the activities is to present an Angklung community performance to show that Angklung is fun.
Through this program, community members practice Angklung music for one year and finally present a show. Various Angklung groups and other cultural arts groups perform in this concert, through which they can appreciate art and culture and understand it better. Collaboration with dance and other musical instruments show the typical Indonesian musical instrument of Angklung mingle with other cultures. Through this program, it becomes evident that there are young people who care and are willing to actively participate in the preservation and development of Indonesian culture. Rumah Angklung hopes this program will function as a means to promote and invite the community to be more concerned about the nation’s children and the art and culture of Indonesia. |
