The main objective of Lumbini Buddhists University is to promote Buddhism and Buddhists studies for which they perform various kind of researches. They have the vision of providing the training and practical knowledge to all the students. Apart from these, they tend to promote and preserve all three monastic education.


They perform various academic programs and are delivering formal degree courses regarding Buddhist culture, tradition, philosophy, literature. They teach the core Buddhists subjects such as; MA in Theravada Buddhism, MA in Mahayana Buddhism, PGD in Buddhist Studies, and bachelors in Buddhism and  humanities for bachelors level. They have also introduced a new course with the combination of Travel and Tourism known as Bachelors in Buddhism and Travel and Tourism Management from this year. They have two more course directly related to intangible heritage – PGD in Archeology and Buddhist Archeological Sites and MA in Museology and Buddhists Collection.

Major Activities

They teach Excavations in archelogy. Likewise, teach how to preserve and manage the museum and its objects to the students of museology. They also perform research from both the tangible and intangible viewpoint. Apart from these activities they perform the normal activities such as providing the facility of academic courses.
