  • To provide conducive arts and cultural facilities and advisory services to Malaysian society;
  • To enhance the development of a productive culture towards the idea of ​​one Malaysia.

JKKN acts to build a network of collaborators with cultural and arts industrial players, as well as government, private, non-governmental, and cultural arts players abroad. In addition, it provides a platform for artisans to be involved in economics through cultural and artistic activities. It reinforces artistic and cultural activities for attracting domestic and foreign tourists. It conducts research and documents and publishes articles and books. It provides artistic guidance, artistic product and cultural development programs that strengthen and promote the value of culture. JKKN enhances the effectiveness of the programs through fourteen JKKN branches in different states.

Major Activities
  • Providing quality services with high impact to the communities, in line with the Eleventh Malaysia Plan (11MP) 2016 – 2020, which emphasizes people-oriented approaches and focuses on improving productivity and efficiency in the public service.
  • Implementing cultural and arts programs with community involvement to preserve and conserve the culture and arts for sustainability as outlined in the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture (2016 – 2020).
  • Re-alignment, based on the five New Cores in line with the national agenda to make it more precise and comprehensive by giving more focus to the department’s overall functions by strengthening efforts to conserve, retain, expand, and enrich the nation’s cultural heritage and promote collaborative networks.
